Get a FB account?
PS Jack... I do want to follow your report, but you have to accept my pending Friendship Request
Its an old one...
Would be wise to copy-past the report here I would say... Like I did with my South Africa story last year January.
Deeply appreciated... What would our meeting, of our FORUM community, be without the Jack's Diaries?
Absolutely agree with Bernard
I do not need a FB account
Too bad we cannot read your wonderful diary Jack. Who are FB people ? What have they best that here ?
Dear Bernard, I am very poor with Facebook, and almost never used it before. Please tell me step by step what should I do in order to imitate what you did with your south Africa story.
No need to use FB, Jack; just post here your diaries!

I like to think of myself as a thorough person, so two months before the
VCIM 18 I prepare an Excel table with a schedule where I'll be and what I'm doing at any moment of the trip in order to arrange plane tickets ferry tickets and for all the logistics of the trip. Schedule here is like a chain, and if one link is broken, everything is lost.
Based on this table, I planned the bike sea voyage to take place on Thursday 05/05/2016 in Haifa and will be in Lavrio Port near Athens in Greece Sunday 08/05/2015.
I planned to fly to there early in the morning, get the bike and travelling to the west side of Greece "Patras "a 200 km trip to the ferry to "Venice" in Italy.
I bought plane tickets based on this schedule. this is the fifth time that I am doing this and until now it worked like a clock.
At the beginning of this week I called the shipping company Rosenfeld. Since the year 2003 started travelling with them shipping the bike and sometimes even myself. I'm there considered as a family member.
There I was told that because of a holiday in Greece ferry reach Greece only on Monday instead of Sunday. This message ruined all my schedule. There is no way that I could get to a meeting in Germany on 08.13.2016.
After hard calculation I decided to send the bike a week before ie Thursday 28/0482016 and the bike will remain for about a week at the customs until I fly there and get it.
Previously I planned a week loading the bike. In view of the schedule change I had to complete the work in two days, hard work that finished me off.
Yesterday I went to Haifa port for the delivery of the motorcycle, at the company in Haifa I was told that In Greece the company will be closed and also the Customs will be closed on Sunday and no way I can get the bike on Sunday. This brought me back to square one.
In Haifa Port I got the regular abuse, go to the north gate in Haifa there this is not the correct gate, go south of Haifa stand in the parking in front of the entrance, wait for the security guy, so on and so forth for the whole day.
Yesterday evening at home, I started a research to find a suitable flight and after several failed attempts found a flight on Friday 05/06/2016 one direction price of 110 euros. I bought the ticket.
I called the first flight company to cancel the previous flight and maybe get back some money. Luckily, I was told that if I did not show for the going flight, the return flight would be automatically canceled. She made the necessary arrangements to save the return ticket and got a refund of 10 euros.
Right now I'm planning what to do the extra two days.
All my prayers that this will be the last hassle and I now I can enjoy the trip.
Isn't your bike more loaded then the previous years Jack???
Right now I'm planning what to do the extra two days.
You've planned an hard traveling plan; so keep cool and have others options you have time to discover Austrian or German Alps, or so much thing to see when we have time and ride small turning roads instead of highways
