Then viewing some old military places in Ubaye valley:
And riding up to Vars pass.
Finding Napoleon's refuge on the other side of the pass
Taking some nice forest road
and up to the bonette-restefond pass (highest asphalt road of Europe)
to be continued ...
What spectacular views you had with a very nice clean athmosphere!
IMO one nice feature of la Bonette-Restefond is that I feel it's sort of a border between N and S.
I mean that just like the passes in the Pyrenees, you can notice that landscapes evolve differently as you go down to the N or the S. Which is not the case IMO in other cols farther N, that have "Athlantic" character at either side.
Congratulations for your ballade!

Josep, I have more this impression on Lautaret pass ...
oftenly it is the limit between sun & rain
Beautiful!
JK
I love the Alps, everywhere
Going down from Cayolle (North):
Yes, it is not Norvegian cascade !
Yes JK we were in Risoul for the arriving of Rafal Majka (when he took the polka-dot jersey)
Nibali, Nibali !
Then going to
Izoard pass
"
casse déserte " just near the Izoard
Nice ones...
My last trip highest one was Sierra Nevada
'Gorge du Guil'...is that where the term 'gorgeous' comes from?
JK
We decide then to go to the 2 famous and classics, but before discover a new one:
