Doing a Mexico Baja trip the end of February and need to haul my bike down to Vegas to escape the snow. I would like to use my truck box (6'6") instead of a trailer.
Anyone have experience with this? What worked or didn't work?
Thanks
so, on the pickup you use a ramp and off should never be a problem!
Cliffy (Zams = 9 toes) managed to get his Vara onto the top of a lorry in the middle of Moroccan desert without any help when the suspension collapsed so a pickup should be easy.
I loaded mine in my Toyota Tundra in 2010 and drove to Florida. I took two metal ramps with me. I walk on one ramp and ride the bike on the other. It`s safer to have an extra person in case the bike starts to lean to one side. The Varadero is a very heavy bike, it`s safer to to have an extra person around. When I got to Florida I asked a
by stander to help me. To put it in the truck I use the engine to bring it on the ramp. It works well and I don`t need a trailer.
