Why would you carry 11 wet stones with you on a motorcycle?

I 'shouted' the other day, there are still a couple of 'new' varas about; one in Scotland (Perth, I think) at sub £8,ooo. with lots of kit.

Hi Red,
Allthough the CT is 10 kg heavier than the Vara, it does indeed feel lighter. The center of gravity is lower than on the vara.
They have done an impressive work on that point.
I had 2 Vara's (140.000 km cumulated) and I absolutely do not regret the change to the CT (DCT version).

I've more or less decided to buy a Crosstourer in preference to the other bikes I've tested recently. Will be looking at a fully kitted out Crosstourer with panniers, led lights, heated grips and bars in September. I'm a big guy and I like the CT over the Varadero. For me the Varadero is too top heavy in my view, and I simply like the idea of the shaft versus chain drive. Will let you know when it is sitting in my garage...
I'm sure it's an excellent bike ...I agree with top heavy... and a shaft drive was on my list when shopping around ...but I found the Varadero just before when the Yamaha Super10 came out and then along came the Triumph ...but 1200+ cc ...lots of horsepower ...more $$ and insurance ...I'm very happy with the Vara (including all it's quirks)
