I seem to have a good bit of play in the fork stantions, would this be the bushes worn in the forks.
Yes, might be the bushes. I changed mine at 60000 km, together with the fork oil, as there was some play in my forks too. The bushes are teflon covered, to give less friction, I think, but the teflon gets worn off at time.
I´ll have to check mine again this winter, as my Varadero has done 132000 km now.
bike has done 35000 miles now, so may have a look at them over the winter.
Well, that´s close to 60000 km, so according my experience it sounds likely it´ll be the bushes.
yep, looks that way, will wait for the snow on the ground before I pull it apart so I know I wont be using it. but then again, I will probably be busy salting the roads, so wont have time.

did you replace with original Honda or pattern.
With originals, yes. Don´t know if they are available as aftermarked parts.
can get some made by balls out racing with the Teflon coating, and dust and oil seals for about £35.
Changed mine @ 75.000 km on both previous varadero's and included stiffer (progressive) front springs too. I have found that this generally is also the mileage on which you have to replace the front headbearings.
@ Ubertourer... just a reminder... we use the metric system here...
well, with the exchange rate at the minute its prob around the 35 euro mark anyway.

€'s are not metric !
Gilles came up with the Euro's. I was revering to the mileage Ubertourer mentioned... Since the UK pound devaluated to the level of the Euro tnx to Brexit, we don't have to convert that any more
