80 kms/h instead of 90 now. On all roads from 1st of July in France you have to ride 80kms/h max on 400 000 kms of secondary roads... Just to change the panels it cost 40 M € !
In Belgium we went on 01/01/2017 from 90 to 70km/h.
Sometimes it annoys me but mostly it's just safer.
It's good to know France has plenty of money to throw about.
But how much penalty fee's they will get
The reduction of the speed limit from 90 km/h to
80 km/h on two-way roads without central separator is applied from 1 July 2018 in France.
be careful you can find 90 panel , you can see this one when you arrive in France
But it is not true, you have to ride everywhere 80 km/h instead of 90...
So be careful
I am amazed by the ideas of the French "eggheads" ... I feel sorry for you.
I’ll go riding in Spain or Italy

This reminds me about the well-known super-expensive speeding fines in Norway.
I ride calm and slow until I cross the Swedish border.
VROOOM... - low fines and no points
Most countryroads in The Netherlands are down from 80 to 60 these days. So no reasons to complain about the French new rules. I'll do my touring in Germany... 100kmh on countryroads 👍🏼😁
I never stick to the 90, so I can't see me sticking to the 80. Within reason of course.
No complaining, just informing; perhaps one of these days, have to ride across France again ...

Yes and? I'll stick to 80... or do the 130kmh toll-roads!
I'd just be happy to do some riding over there again
In July automatic radars have took twice as much pictures as July 2017...
security is a nice idea
