Was anything wrong with the old one?
Is your VIN between 000005 and 000115 (the numbers subject to the recall in the other thread)?
Greetings

Grisou, member of the French forum, has posted there this letter. It's the one all French Crosstourer riders (plus maybe some Finnish
) seem to have received.
"In order to guarantee your safety and you can go on enjoying your bike, we have decided not to wait until the definitive [newly designed shaft drive] part is available. Then the repair will be done in two phases.
First phase, already active, is to let your dealer verify your transmission and, if necessary, replace your shaft drive by a new one. To do so, please set up an appointment as soon as possible with your dealer (see list and locations in honda.fr).
Second phase will take place in the second trimester 2016, when we will have already received the parts with the final modifications, so that they can be installed on your bike. When this second phase is active, you will receive a new letter to invite you to set up a new appointment with your dealer."

Greetings,
Josep
Parts have arrived for the recall on my Crosstourer.
I have just received a letter from the Spanish Ministery of Internal Affairs (at first I thought it would be, as usual, a ticket
) on behalf of Honda.
They (Honda) tell me essentially the same thing about two phases as in the above French letters (the Ministery tells me some bulls**t about I must ride carefully and check the tyre pressure and...
). The actual text and some fine print make me think that both (French and Spanish) come from the same source (Honda Europe).
Anyway, they tell me I have to contact the nearest dealer (some 50 km from home). Depending on their answer, I think I won't bother phase 1 and just wait for phase 2 (you know, I don't feel like wasting one morning of my time).
Greetings,
Josep
Finally I went through the two phases.
I had the shaft drive checked a few months ago and fully replaced this morning.
In the 110 km ridden I must say I noticed something different: noises gone by.
When the bike reached slowly the point where the dwarves downshift it made noises like they were downshifting and upshifting, without changing gear at all. These "hesitation" noises exist no more, and I'd swear that the noise of shifting is reduced as well.
As to dynamically, she runs as smooth as ever.
Greetings
Josep
