This might be a stupid question, but I bought my Vara used from a dealer. The previous owner did not have the owners manual so the dealer has ordered one for me. It hasn't arrived yet. Due to some problems at the dealer (not regarding my bike) I just picked up the bike an '09 model, last monday. I have only been out riding a couple of times due to work, but today I noticed that only one of the headlights was on. Aren't both headlights supposed to on when the bike is running? I then switched on the high beam light and then both light bulbs lid up.
Questions:
Aren't both headlights supposed to be on when the bike is running?
If yes, is it possible that only the low light part of the light bulb is broke? - Or is it perhaps a loose connection?
Hope my english is fine enough for you guys to understand my questions.
Thanks

Welcome sbn. It's yes all the way.
Yes, both headlights on at the same time.
Yes, low beam may have blown (or bad connection)
Yes, your English is good
thank you here on the international forum also
Perhaps a choice of previous owner, to save power if he do no ride nightly, and just want to be seen ....
but not normal as said !
IMO, having a twin light was one of the good things about the Vara.
You are better seen, you have a normal lightning power and in the event of a burned bulb you are not left 100% blind. That is, just like my Fiat Panda.

you can control your light bulbs with an ohmmeter
there is a filament for code and one for headlights
it s fairly simple to make
