Honda X-trail Meeting
Nàh. Don't see the NC700/750X nor the CB500X blending in. They attract a different type of owner than our current bike setup (XL1000V, VFR1200X and CRF1000). Look at the UK forum, the 125 Varadero riders took over the place but never join for a VUK nor VCIM.
But vfr x are welcome, both 800 and 1200. After all, members has an origin in Varadero so VIM is fully understandable
Nooo
Honda Adventure Riders is good...

Not sure crossrunner is in the Varadero's spirit... Varadero is this forum's mother. So ... We have to think about what to include or not ...
HADVR.com (free) - Honda ADVenture Rider
HADVRM.com (free) - Honda ADVenture Rider Meeting
HACVIM.com (free) - Honda African twin Crosstourer Varadero International Meeting
HAVCIM.com (free) - Honda African twin Varadero Crosstourer International Meeting
Åke, seems our next forum will be Honda-adventure-riders.com
For the meeting we add the number on each year, so next site will be something like ham19.com or harm19.com ....
Yes Zebulon, that I know.
If you shorten Honda-adventure-riders.com it will be "hadvr" so I suggest hadvr19.com and so on.
HAT - Honda Adventure Team
HART - Honda Adventure Riders Team
HARB - Honda Adventure Riders Band
Har is not a's good as ham, but is the sound a pirate makes so at the next meeting we could all dress up as pirates.
Let's see who is the first to bring a parrot
And for Me - it is correct way.
vim19.honda-adventure-riders.com
and - free of pay :-)
Interesting discussion.
From a manufacturing perspective (ie from Honda's point of view, not each of ours) Honda makes three types of adventure bikes. The problem is we do not necessarily agree with Honda's classification. Working in the industry I face this tension quite a lot.
The three broad areas of Honda adventure bikes are:
- the "X" series bikes with 17 inch front wheels (CB500X, NC750X, VFR800X)
- The "X" series bikes with 19 inch front wheels (XL1000V, VFR1200X)
- Adventure Motorcycles with 21 inch front wheels - Africa Twin
If we want to limit the type of bikes we think more accurately represent the type of Honda Adventure Bikes we as a group represent, I suggest we consider limiting it to all current and previous models of Honda bikes with a front wheel of 19 inches or more.
That does not mean we can arrive at future meetings on bikes other than these, of course we can, but from an adventure perspective I think the 19 inch front wheel/21 inch front wheel makes for an inclusive group of bikes but not too many.
If we adopt something like this then in my view this matches the Honda Adventure Riders.com name, the history of the forum and opening it slightly for new models.
I see no need nor indeed a defensible reason to keep the name VIM going forward in any of our communications. That is too narrow. I also see no need to reference any bike model name, preferring instead the Honda Riders Adventure Forum.
From there discussion on a name for our meetings can gain a bit of focus.
Agree with you David; yes we speak about VIM, because they was 14, and easy to say in a lot of languages; VCIM is more difficult
; but we can turn the page and remember where we come from...
Wheel dimension, or engine capacity can be used: up to 19" or more the 1000 (996
