Of cause, I could have chosen to repair it, but how good would the rest of it be? It rusts from the inside, so nobody knows. Or, I could have bought a used one, but again, which condition would that be in when sandblasted?
So, I chose to buy a new one, then I know it´s okay, after all, it is a quite important part of the bike!
Wasn't the original a 2x2 exhaust?
No, the original was 4-into-4 system as on the earlier 750 K´s and 500 models, but another design than the others:
The earlier K models, this is a 1969, early 1970 model:
The F models were fitted with an original 4-into-1 system, but not the same, here the F1:
And the F2, the first Honda with ComStar wheels. The K´s and the F1 models all had 67 HP, but the F2 had 72, this mainly came from another camshaft, other pistons and the exhaust:
