Hi,
I just put new tyres on my Varadero, third set of Anakee 3. Bike is 40579 km, I check bearings, of the wheels, no free play, front are smooth but rear are little tight, because of the tight bush between may be, on front the bush is loose. I notice that on the bearing of rear sprocket there is little scratching noise when I turn it by hand, but no free play on any directions. Seals looks fine, little wear but in good shape.
How much last wheel bearings on Varadero ? Should I wonder ? I prepare 5200 km trip in July to Georgia.
I've made on both 3 varaderos more then 60 000 without changing them ... Depending a little bit on how you drive too . Think you can bring them in Georgia ; and as usual, we're waiting then for your nice report

Hi,
I changed the rear bearings at about 50K km. The front bearings at 95000 km. The bearing should be easily, tight and smoothly rotate with your finger. If you "feel" a scrape ...... chang the bearings. ( 3 in ihe rear wheel).

I changed all three bearings in the rear wheel at 78500 km, when
the right one, the smallest of them, crashed
The front wheel bearings hasn´t been changed yet, at 119000 km.
Wheel bearings no matter what distance travelled, should be firm and smooth. The wheel should move easily with no resistance or noise.
Any hint of scratchiness they should be immediately replaced.
Front are smooth, but on the rear sprocket there is a little fill of scratchiness. The rear wheel bearings are not so smooth but no fill of scratchiness there. May be I will change all the bearings on next tyre change. I hope there will not be any problem on this trip. No free play on any directions on all the bearings, all are tight and easily rotated with my finger, but front bearings are much more smoother than rear.
Always when changing tires inspect - if you feel clearances for bearing, or even minor blurring or loud work - that means time to replace the bearings with new ones.
I return from Georgia, not a single problem my Varadero, perfect.
I put 5500 km on good and bad roads, little offroad. Soon pictures and videos. Now I will show you just one picture.
