In the posts below I will describe the parts and accessories I've fitted to my AT.
Not all are done yet as some parts may take up to three months to arrive. Rather than address the parts by type in various threads, I'm going to do one thread for my bike. This thread will grow as I update, change and modify the bike over time.
The parts I ordered when purchasing the AT were:
- Touratech upper and lower stainless steel crash bars (cheaper than the Honda OEM ones and better quality)
- Touratech LED's (cheaper than the Honda OEM ones and better quality)
- Touratech bash plate
- Oxford hot grips
- OEM centre stand
- OEM power socket
- Givi trekker pannier racks and top fitting plate - I'm keeping my trekker outback panniers from my CT
- Scott oiler for the chain.
- Swapping out the Dunlop tires that come with the bike for a pair of TKC 70's.
Problems so far are:- The Oxford heated grips have a manufacturing fault so need to be replaced.
Upper engine guards - Touratech
Front, side and space between bars and bike views.
Scott Oiler - good for low chain maintenance.
Foot pegs. One of my local contacts who has an AT has made some customised foot pegs. These footpegs are larger and more comfortable to ride and stand on, but one need's to mind his shins when putting his feet down at stops!
'Work In Progress', David?
Mounting points for the top engine guards
Looking up from under the front of the engine bay
bottom mount of the upper engine guard
Touratech bash plate. A bit over priced in my view.
Luggage.
I use a small top box for day trips, as shown in an above post, but more serious luggage for two up touring - Givi trekker outback panniers.
For the top box a 58L option, which is too big (but not according to she who must be obeyed
)
Nice! Including build-in-kitchen Goldwing Style?
You have been quick, but also your seasons starts when our closes
You have been quick, but also your seasons starts when our closes
My season never really closes off, just depends on whether I'm prepared to ride in the wet and cold.
I'm still waiting for some farkles to arrive, they're on back order.
At the moment I have some of enforced rest so will be ready to go come the end of the month.
And now... the bike is officially shaken... not stirred... ?
Hope everything is well iN Wellington!
Thanks Bernard. The bike is shaken indeed. But it is steady on its side stand and grateful for the hand brake. The earthquake and aftershocks are a bit stronger than I'm used to
we are safe and well, but the nerves a little frayed.
Top case is too big, is a high probability that it will fall on larger potholes. The rear trunk is somewhat delicate, 3 times lessstrong than at the varadero. (At manual - 10 kg brutto weight max), and look that Your topcase has the center of gravity too far back
