That's exactly what I had in mind too : connect the cam to my 12V socket! Problem solved!
The lcd-screen on the Drift cams will switch off automatically after a preset time(10-20-60-120 sec)
Btw : you have a lot of electronics on your bike Skye! Omg!
Well, that's nothing compared to this Varadero.
Wrong bike, but very, very nice GoPro3 footage:
Those hexacopters are in incredible to take photos from above..
Here is an example how I'm using the mount and twisting camera where the action is.
Clip is from spring 2013 when some morons took their old 125cc and drove 1600 km during a 24 hors.. A Honda vision with 110cc and a topspeed in downhill at 85 km/h made the 1600 km in 23 hours 42 minutes. Therefor it was a rush with the fillup..
Now I did my choice and ordered MY ACTIONCAM, which will be the Drift HD-Ghost-S.
The advantages I see:
+ high accu capacity
+ remote controlled
+ LCD screen, with possibility to switch off
+ charging during recording
+ Full-HD at 60 pics/sec
+ take photos while recording
+ loop-funktion
+ record button to store the last 5 min and the following 10 min
+ two tripod threads
+ water resistant
The cam I will mount at the mirror arm as Magnus does.
Greetings from the South of Germany ...

Congratulations Rainer!
Hope you will have a lot of fun with this new cam.
I'm still in doubt at the moment. Not about my choice (driftHD or driftHD ghost), but more if I am gonna do it at all.................
Already started this subject with my wife. She liked the idea! Have been checking out different video-editing software as well. Discovered that it will take quite a study to master the skills of making a proper video!
So, I don't know yet!
Anyway, another biker attending VIM at Geiranger with an action cam!
Madero,
of course there are as well disadvantages:
- get in contact with my Minister of Finances and get the money cleared
First I had to spend some
, but in the end I got the ministerial approval
Rainer
You are absolutely right Skye! We all have to learn and start from the beginning!
Found this website on the internet, with comparisons of different software
http://video-editing-software-review.toptenreviews.com/According to this review Cyberlink Video Director 12 should be the best buy. Available here for about €60,=
Luckily we have internet nowadays that provides all sorts of tutorials to help a beginner like me to get started.
Getting started with editing and learning all the Cyberlink features can be a nice activity during next winter.
To be continued...........
Today I played with my new cam (Drift Ghost S). It isn't as easy. I think there's needed a lot of experiences to produce clips like the Skye Studios do. I proceed learning by doing, hopefully till our German Meeting I will be so far to do housewife clips.
