Well folks, I've been surfing the internet for some hours now and here are my latest findings.
CAMERA
Off course I do like the specs and quality of the Sony cams. The built-in imagestabilizer is a very useful feature. On the other hand the Sony does not have a lcd-screen and can only be mounted by using the waterproof housing. Connecting to a permanent powersource and an external mic requires modifcation of this housing as shown on the picture of Jokern. I don't like that and rather go for a cam that is waterproof without a housing.
The Drift HD does have a lcd-screen, is rainproof, has connections for power/mic but NO stabilizer!
Is there a brand/model that has the benefits of both the Drift and Sony for a reasonable price?
Yes there is!
I discovered the JVC Addixion : waterproof up to 5 meters, lcd-screen, Wifi and stabilizer!
The Addixion GC-XA1 is available here for 145,=. The reviews of this cam are very positive except for the battery-life. This is caused by the lcd-screen that is on permanently. The latest model GC-XA2 switches the lcd-screen off automatically, thus saving batterylife. This model also includes some nice extra features. Price over here 299,=
Indeed, there you go with the ambition to buy a cheap cam!
For now this JVC GC-XA2 is my favourite.
WHAT EXTRA
I have also found out that my expenses don't stop after bying the camera!
At least 1 required SD card (32 Gb,class 10) has to be bought for ca. 50,=
An external mic will cost 17,=
If you like to have an extra battery, that will cost you another 40,=
Then you need a RAM ballmount to fix your cam on your bike 50,=
Finally you will require software to edit the footage like Magix Movie Edit Pro for 70,=
So, apart from the camera I must spent at least another 200,= to get going!
Totally I am then talking about an investment of around 500,=
Knowing that I already have a lot of (expensive) hobbies it is now becoming clear that it is not really obvious to start with another hobby in these times of 'economic crisis'.
Or in other words : I don't know yet!
