Pics with 58l would be nice
Yes I can do this now, add photos that is.
When I put the top box on I will take a picture and post. In the meantime this is the bike before installing the top box. I don't run with all the gear unless I'm riding two up with the beautiful other half. The plate on the back of the bike from Hepco and Becker, whereas the bash plate, panniers, cargo bag and side stand extender are Givi. The dry bag is Touratech.
@Mr Kiwi nice to see some pics from the other side of the world.........
Nice Mr Kiwi! It is not the right topic but you can perhaps make some comment of your Givi bash plate
Looks like a great trip. Love that bike of yours! I wish they brought them to Canada. I would have bought one instead of the Varadero. But, I still love my Varadero.
How were the Pilot Road 4s in the gravel and dirt?
Givi bash plate - it works but I'm not sure I like the looks of it. It is very snug and for my liking makes the bottom of the bike look very square. The Hepco and Beckner bash plate is probably better, but I was buying the Givi Trekker Outback panniers and liner bags so I went the whole hog. Functionally it works very well.
Please note, this bash plate does not fit the DCT gearbox.
Pilot Road Four tires - see my other thread on this. They are excellent tires for paved roads. The front tire is the trail version, but on wet unpaved roads other than good gravel it is very slippery. From past experience, if you let air out of the tires for better running in gravel, the soft sides of the tire wear very quickly. Because of that I don't deflate the tires to less than 30-32 psi.
