Hello Gents
Has anybody got a Corbin seat for a 99-02 Varadero for sale.

Think twice before placing the Corbin saddle, Tony.
I had one on my Varadero and despite that the saddle delivers a fair amount of comfort for your bottom, it caused (in my case) painfull knees because the seating-agle of my knees became to sharp. And if you are small (short leggs)... Your sitting position is lower, but since the corbin is wider as the stock seat, it won't do less in terms of 'reaching solid ground' with both feet than you might expect...
I found a better solution... went to a local car upholstery service and increased the padding of the original saddle with + 1cm new and stiffer padding. Cheaper too...
Hello Two Plugs
Thanks for the reply, I did have a Corbin on my first Varadero and I loved it, then I sold the bike and went to other bikes, came back to a Varadero and really want the comfort I had with the first bike and its Corbin seat.
Having said that, I will do as you suggest and go to my local upholsterer and see what they can come up with
Thanks again, I will keep you informed
Regards
Tony
In that case... replace the cover of the front (rider) seat with an anti-slip cover. Together with the new padding, it was one of the best improvements I have done on my previous bike!
Hey Two Plugs.
I need to fix my saddle as well since it is very soft.
Going to an upholstery service place sounds like a really good idea! Do you have any tips on what to ask for. Mainly in terms of foam type I guess, but also the anti slip material? Car upholstery guys might not be wizards on bike seats?
If you were to redo the modification, would you do anything differently, like add more paddig or use a stiffer foam etc?
Did they cut some old foam of before putting the new material on or did they just put it on top of the old foam?
Regards,
Maua
Just an fyi. I talked to Corbin and they no longer make varo seats.

The new TS seat below
@ Maua:
I used slightely stiffer foam than the original. Left the details to the upholstery company - they are the experts...
Last time I looked, there were quite number of seat COVERS on e-bay UK, if that's of any help.
I was happy enough with my old Vara and this one seems the same. It's only the height that is a problem for me (short in the ar**) but I'm reluctant to change that 'cause I like like it once I'm up & running.

I know a guy selling it but it will be from Singapore. Let me know if you're interested and I will connect you.
Nowadays it seams like the french company "Top sellerie" is the way to go to get a comfort seat. I have decided to go for one of those. they offer gel inserts and heating option both front and rear (expensive) they have a good deal which is that they will provide you with a complete saddle and once that is delivered to you you send your saddle to the to "give" them your base. It makes it more economical.
Lots of ads on eBay from those guys.
One of the dutch participants at vcim Geiranger had a 'top sellery' made saddle. He was very happy with that one. Looked really wonderful too! Had the stitching and Varadero-logo bordured on the seat in the same color as his bike. Don't know what he paid for it though.
I just ordered a TS seat and got a new seat pan as I didn't want to be bikeless. Gel pads both, heated driver seat, one inch taller and further back for driver and €840. About $1200 Canadian. Excited to get it ! Black and gray with gold stripe and her name in red viking script....RidgeRunner.
I just got my top sellerie for 340 €, both seats gel but no heating...
@ theiggy ...we need a C$1200 photo ...I'm sure it looks great, don't get me wrong, but my skinny butt didn't get that bad after riding 8-10 hours every day for two weeks
