Brakes shuddering and rear disc seizes

Have any of you experienced this?

The rear brake pedal has a shuddering sensation, like the pads are vibrating on the discs and they do not grip.

After riding a while the rear disc also almost seizes up - the caliper is extremely hot and the pads then seize on the disc.

I posted earlier about unlinking the DCBS and I think I have to now because it's dangerous.

Sorry, I don't remember reading anything like that before.
It looks like it has nothing to do with any Varadero or CombinedBrakeSystem known problem.
So, my guess is that you are suffering from some quite general problem, unrelated to Varadero-CBS. My knowledge in mechanics is so poor that I can provide no useful clue. Sorry.

As Josep, never seen something like this ... have you changed the pads recently ? surely have to lubricate the pistons ... is it when you only use the pedal (externals pistons) or both with front brake too ?

Would suspect that the rear brake activation from the front disc set up is sticking on causing the rear brake
to be on all of the time. Possibly the rear disc has warped causing it to pulse on activation.
Suggest all three calipers need cleaning and checking fully.

sounds like you need to rebuild the caliper + new pads and fresh brake fluid.

Check the front left brake disc to see if the caliper is bouncing, otherwise it will press on the rear brake piston mechanism.

The front pads must be "loose" and free to return after applying the brake, and the disc must rotate without resistance.

Yes I think that was the problem - I have now completely de-linked the brakes and everything is good - see my updated thread
