Centre Stand
« on: November 29, 2013, 00:02:22 »
Just about to buy a centre stand for my 08 Vara 1000. Can someone tell me if the genuine Honda one fits better than all the aftermarket ones like SW and Hepco. I was once told by someone that it does and is easier to get the bike up onto it with the Honda design. Getting the Honda one in Australia is ridiculous in price so I would order from England probably. Someone told me Daves Honda or something like that has good prices. Otherwise if there is no real difference I can order a SW one here for about $270 AUD delivered to my door. Any advice appreciated.

The aftermarket centre stand is also an excellent choice.
Costs less and moreover the majority of the Varadero riders uses  aftermarket without any problems. If you dont care about the cost then proceed to buy the original .

I'm using the original one.
Had the choice between aftermarket and original center stand. I decided myself for the original one because in the German Varadero Forum it was written what oguzetuna posted here.

Does anybody have the measurements and/or maybe a sketch of the centre stand for the 2002 mk1 ? I noticed a couple of different designs and have no idea what goes with what.  Or even if there is a different bikes stand that could work. I have friend that is willing to build one for me because there is no way in hell I'll ever be able to buy the real McCoy on my goverment salary...

SW Motec offers great value for money, more affordable than the Honda one; quality is equal, maybe better.
