My opinion.

This will break with a tradition - the tradition of VIM, the awarding of a winner who receives a gift (what ever this can be).
This will break with the identification of active participants with the meeting, who have a pre-competition 3 months before.
This will transforms the VIM, with its traditions, into a simple motorcycle meeting.

End of my opinion.

Perhaps this post will encourage potential VIM-participants and/or forum-readers to post their opinion too
and
this leads to a little more life in the forum.

At the end and to say it politely: I feel sad about this decision

It's a pity that I lost time for preparations.
At the moment I regret that I decided to take the VIM22 organization, being such a short HAR member, without knowing the traditional rules.
But anyway, I will do my best to finish this project as you expect.

Thank you Krystof for your activity, for the time and the work you spend for the organisation of the VIM.

Everybody will show respect for your personal power you have/will put in  .

This had been my opinion, which I posted above and I thought/hope(ed) others also will post their opinion.

I suggest after having a clear view about "having a logo-competition or having no logo-competition", one of the admis (I think so) should open the competition or not.

Again CHAPEAU for your absolutely well done work in the past and in the future.

Yes , you perhaps have begun to see Kristof (sorry for spelling) how is a VIM during your last/first participation and we have some "traditions" as logo competition, and on this point too agree with Rainer. It can animate the forum with some VIM information ...

KRistof , sure, we (admin team ) can help you on all point (s) if you have question (s) . As previous organizers too, you are in the VIM orga team threads where you can find /ask any question.

Do not understand if Bogdan is in your orga team, sure he can be a precious help as VIM#7 organizer.

As said by Rainer, VIM is not only  a MC meeting but have a "special spirit" .
STewart/SB have a lot of knowledge in VIM orga too, but perhaps a little bit late to solicit him.

Yes we are some to know how it is difficult to organize all points, because we have do it before; yes a VIM is how the orga team think it have to be , and each meeting is different; but yes after 21 years we have some tradition.

Big thank you Kristof for what you have done, what you will do, and for the global organization of this next meeting .

Only if it is your choice, I do not want to decide anything . We can perhaps wait for some others members advices.

You can find on every lasts VIMs threads as we have done:

First opening a post where members deposit their propositions and giving a dead line.
You have to specify, elements they can/have to include in their propositions.

Second phase is to organize a poll (with a dead line) to invite all members to vote for the different propositions   You can specify or not the price offered ( sure you can find on previous posts what have been done)

You can propose your logo as a choice for the vote or as an exemple on what can be included in the logo. Offently: VIM#XX - place and date - some traditional or geographical specification of the place or the country...

We hired a professional graphic designer who prepared a t-shirt and sticker designs.
So you shouldn't be surprised by my reaction. when I saw that you wanted to launch a logo competition.

I respect your tradition, but in my opinion it doesn't mean that nothing can be changed.  - You, Gilles, for example don't ride to Varadero anymore.
Anyway, still everything is possible to change, to tradition continue.

It turns out, I don't understand the team spirit idea, but when you look at the VIM22 agenda  there, you'll find events which bring people together. It was our intention because I'm more than sure that human relationships are really important, and this is something that creates "meeting special spirit".
That's my point of view.
