Hello from (now) snowy Sweden
« on: February 28, 2018, 15:43:15 »
Hello Everyone!

Mikael is the name and I'm a 25 year old from Stockholm in Sweden.
I'm on my second Transalp now (not crashed, just upgraded) and I'm planning on traveling as much of the world on a motorcycle as I possibly can in my life.

I'm quite new to bigger bikes but when I was younger I used to ride motorcross for a while and I spent 65-70k miles on an 50cc fixed to do 90km/h.
But last year I finally got myself the drivers license and a Transalp.
Been riding around 3000 miles since then (winter came unfortunally) and I am now planning on starting with a practice run from Stockholm all the way to Andorra with stops along the coast of France, Belgium and Netherlands now in the spring to warm up the riding again.

The black one is my newest.
The brown is my first.

Super bikes. Those are '98 models? I owned a red '97. Really loved it.
The International Transalp Treffen (ITT) is held one week previous to our 20th Varadero International Meeting in Andorra, hosted by the Dutch Transalp Club in... The Netherlands.
Nice stop-over on your possible way to VIM? You are kindly invited!

Thank you all very much :)
Olle, I'll be sending you a PM a little later since I saw that you are maby going the same way I'm going to Andorra.

The black one is a -98 and the brown a -97 actually. Got the brown first and loved it but it needed a little fixing and I wanted a black one from the beginning so when I got the option to buy the black with half the mileage from the brown and a bit better overall, it was a certainty.

I'm actually planning to visit the Netherland about a week before the VIM 20 so going on the ITT would be perfect!
Didn't know about it at all but I wanted to visit the Netherlands anyway so its just a win-win, haha.

Is there any information about this somewhere that I can get a hold of?

Edit: Found some info and I misunderstood a little.
The meet up was 31st May to 3 June.
I'll see if I can join. Just gonna check up on some things, but I most definitely want to go!
Big chance I'll go back to the Netherlands after VIM 20 then :)

Welcome Troberg.

In this forum the metric system is preferred so you don't need to adjust. The UK guys simply have to adapt to what everyone else in Europe use, instead of vice versa ;)

Have a good trip!
