Look what I've done.
« on: October 08, 2015, 04:47:36 »
When visiting Two Plugs recently he took me to one of his local motorbike dealers.

I saw this, a 1998 Honda XL600v with just over 38,000kms on the clock.

On coming back to NZ, I decided I had to have it.  So I've now bought it and it resides with Two Plugs as an incentive for me to head back from time to time go ride in Europe...

I blame Bernard :P

I do not ride fast, I ride far / I'm not lost, I'm just exploring

Nice bike!
Reminds me my '97 TA (the first year with twin front disks), a bike that brought us to the Orkney, Dolomites or Schwarzwald, at her own pace, of course.  ;)
Mine had no taller screen or Laser exhaust, though.  ;)

Greetings,

Josep

It will be treasured and kept safe in a comfy heated garage together with Mighty White (my Dero ;) ) and Granny 1 + Granny 2.
And its exact the same colour I bought back in 1997!

@Bogdan: I still remember your goldenlocks from the ITT, I think it was in Germany, Kirchhundem? Thats a real classic... It was my first bike (eh, first bike allowed to be used on the public road :lol3 )

Don't wanna highjack the topic, but I actually bought my first Transalp 600 in 1992. That was also the gold one, from 1988. Loved that bike!

Thanks everyone, I'm pleased to have this bike in my vehicle stable.  Will be heading to Europe for work and pleasure in May next year, aiming to do ride to VCIM.  VCIF_salut

And I'm sure Bernard will post another pic of the bike with some modifications made to it (fitment of some accessories) when he picks it up from the bike shop.
