Alps are still so beautiful - 2017's season
« on: September 18, 2017, 13:13:40 »
2017's Alpine season is now finished (for motorbiking ) - Skiing and riding will begin in 3 months ;)

Done some interesting rides, a lot of off-road tracks in France and Italy (and also in Cévennes but not the subject here ) ; put the AT on some passes she do not know ...

First done the International Africa twin festival , based in Alberville, done 3 days of nice rides on passes around

Arriving at the camping with Olivier and it's nice candy

All Honda adventure bikes were represented

I prefer tracks with less people (too much dust  >:( ) , just near Madeleine pass (2000m)

A lot of stops, temperature was up to 39° at the end of June

scenic roads

Just under Iseran at Bonneval

and some oldies

Then I ride a little bit with Michelle (done Stella alone  VCIF_ok ), and we have planned since years too, to go to Assietta road & pass

Not very good weather arriving Sestrière

Before you begin, some panel to read  ;D

But we begun ascent to Basset pass

And arriving to the pass

Some other pass to ride

And we arrive

Next travelers will remember of us

Vertiginous passages, stunning landscape  8)  VCIF_a040hae

and it is the end of the road, we are not far from Finestre pass  ;)

Then I've done the Parpaillon Tunnel with my friend Gilles and his GS

Beginning from Risoul resort and Valbelle pass,  it is the indentation in the middle ...

very nice in the morning ,nobody on the slopes ;D only some marmots  VCIF_ThumbUp

Then beginning the ride down to St-André d'Embrun

Nice track under the larch

difficult to imagine how the earth gave birth

A little stop to the pass "Col de la Coche"

And a nice view on the serre-ponçon lake

Tunnel is open !

inhabitants of the mountain...

Just stunning !

last turn before the pass & tunnel

and we are at the top, "barre des Ecrins" on the back yard  VCIF_ThumbUp

 ;)

Tunnel is something like this, no more snow this year but a lot of water and mud in the middle (550 m long )

Quietly the same thing the other side
