Just got my new 1200X today. It came with a center stand, power outlet,and heated grips. I added the Givi bags, the Givi skid plate and the Givi crash bars. I love the color. It also came with the Bridgestone tires. I took my last trip on my Varadero to Americade (Lake George, N.Y. -USA) That bike with 105,000 kms still works great. I hope the new one will be as good. I added a photo but I'm not sure if it went through.

Which I can see is a three coloured DCT 
IMO there's a couple more things you're going to need, namely a higher screen and a longer rear mudguard

It's a manual transmission which I love. I love the shifting function of driving a motorcycle. I respect everyone the prefer the DCT but to me, shifting is part of the motorcycle experience I enjoy.

I have added a 1 inch foam in the seat for now. I may have to modify it some more. I also order Black Anodized
Hunter tread 121054H-2210 ,$199.95 from Knight Design. That will drop my foot peg about an inch.  I find it expensive ($240.00 , including shipping). That will cost me $328 Canadian.

The next issue will be the windscreen. If I was just touring locally, I would leave the stock screen. I love the design that it goes up and down. Down in town up on the highway. The buffeting is not bad. The problem for me is the width. I need a wider screen for stormy highway touring days.

I may also get a set of hand guard extensions.  i'm going around the Cabot Trail  ( http://www.novascotia.com/explore/top-25/cabot-trail ) today to add up the mileage for my 1000 km service. I'll get a better opinion of the bike when I return.

I had only issue with a seat, it was too squared. All the rest on my CT was original Honda, with higher touring scree.

I added lower pegs and added an inch to the seat but I'm not sure about the seat comfort yet. I ordered bar risers, highway pegs and a Givi Airflow windscreen. Hopefully it will help with the comfort. I want to go across Canada / USA this summer.

An absolute must IMO. I put gel padding on mine.

I sent mine away to CM seats in Coventry UK.  It had new padding , a gel pad and a new cover in black with silver piping around the edge.
Wow! what a difference. Its like sitting on a comfy sofa now.

Digging your VFR1200X, Maritimer! Do you still have the bike? Got any mods for it in the meantime or something?

Hi Hodges. I added a Top Sellerie high / heated seat. The comfort and shape are an improvement to the original seat. I sometimes travel early in the spring and fall, the heated seat may come in handy.
I'm still struggling with the summer heat and I doubt any seat could solve that problem. The California Scientific windscreen works good for me, the pegs are also great for my legs. I love the bike and I plan to keep it for a long time. I'm riding Michelin Pilot Trail 4 tires and I love them for touring.

Other things I might add are: a front fender extender and a rear hugger. Handle bar risers would be an option if there was extra room for the cables and lines. Adding bar risers may require installing longer lines and cables.

There are not many other options that I would like to add. Overall it's a great bike for me.

Anyone who wants to buy an extra seat, I have two extra original seats.
