Elefantentreffen 2014
« on: February 06, 2014, 16:37:17 »
Hi guys,

few days ago I've returned from my 6th visit of legendary winter meeting Elefantentreffen. I left my Vara at home just to avoid riding on that mega-salty roads, and I took my Honda Lead scooter. Here's short video:

BTW it was the easiest Elefant of all I've visited. Nice sunny weather, temperature above zero, sometimes even above two digits!

Enjoy,

Herghott

special atmosphere as usual  ;) not to difficult with the Lead ?
Alone we go faster, together we go further

I do not ride fast, I ride far / I'm not lost, I'm just exploring

Nope, it is quite easy with Lead, as we rode through countryside, where I'd have to shift much on my Vara. The only disadvantage is maximum speed, which is 80 km/h :) Guys with me were little bored on their Husqvarna 650 Terra and BMuu 650 GS.

Nice to see.  :)
Sad the final part. The five Slovakian biker who passed away  :( ... man and woman with same surname, then two male names again with same surname... :( accidents?

Luckily you were back harmless.

Regards,

Josep

Josep, that was horribly sad. The first two had an accident on a motorbike, died immediately. The third one was a policeman on a motorbike, who had an accident when rushing to where the first accident happened...

The remaining two were brothers (age 9 and 6), who drowned in Danube river. First one accidently fell into water, the second one jumped to help him... They loved motorbikes.

Each year I wish we have nobody to put on the list. Instead, that list is getting longer and longer...

Don't know what to say; especially about the two little brothers. Pilgrimage still going strong then.

Enjoy it while you can.

Hah, Manos, thanks! To make it exact - I travelled to Faro in Portugal and back, 8000 km. This was my third Elefant on Lead, the rest was on my Vara.

Take care my Greek friend!

Sorry you were right ,till Portugal was your journey. From now on i will call you ''Phileas Fogg ''. Take care Peter and keep making your dreams come true ....

PS:To those who are not familiar to the name ''Phileas Fogg'' ,   (Phileas Fogg is the main character in the 1873 Jules Verne novel Around the World in Eighty Days.)
