My way to VIM 2020
« on: September 01, 2019, 12:24:47 »
Hello friends,

I am already starting to plan my trip to VIM2020.

I will start in Eitorf (Germany) on Sunday or Monday. Route shall lead via CZ and SK. Accomodation is planned to be Hotel or B&B. No Highway!

Any recommendations?
Anyone interested to go with me?

Maybe I will go on from VIM in direction baltic sea and/or baltic states to return to Hamburg via ferry....

Good idea Stephan, I can prepare an interesting return way along the eastern wall of Poland, if you want.  VCIF_ThumbUp

Also, it will be worth coming to VIM the day before (Thursday).
I heard that "Obcy" are preparing interesting attractions on Friday.  8)

Definetly not. On my bucket list are still Poland and the baltic states in the highest positions. And the VIM is a quite good reason to get that done...

Hi,
I am in the early stage of planning my route to VIM 2020.

Stage one. Away.
Ferry from Sweden to Rostock or Swinoujscie or Gdynia.
From there I would like to take nice routes and avoid highways.
4 days of travel.

Stage two. Home.
Another route that will bring me to Rostock or Swinoujscie or Gdynia.
5 days of travel.

What are youre suggestiones?

I did the Rostock ferry with car this summer. It was pleasant and cost less than route via Denmark, save many hours or riding too if that is what you want  har_scratch Don't know about the others...

Thinking about going to VIM from Finland and very similar ideas. As trains from Tallinn to Warsaw seem not to be option yet (baltic rail under construction, 7 hours from Tallinn to Warsaw but under construction and ready 2026 so no).

Kinda leaves only reasonable options to take boat to Tallinn and drive from there to Poland (about 1300 km). Or then taking that ferry to Rostock or Gdynia.

Really not a problem from Finland to Poland (only 3 countries to ride thru  ;) )
Done after VIM in Denmark  from south France, then Finland, Baltics, Poland etc ...  VCIF_salut

Hi,

We did it with my wife, two bikes, at 2017. Easily doable in 3 days w/o highways for her, even she is a beginner :)

For next year we plan to visit some countries where we haven't been yet.

Day 1 Oslo - Nynäshamn ferry.
Day 2 Ventspils ferry - Vilnius.
Day 3 Vilnius - Minsk
Day 4 Minsk
Day 5 Minsk - Ukrainian border.
Day 6 Ukranian border - Lviv
Day 7 Lviv
Day 8 Lviv - Bieszczady

After VIM - who knows.
Romania (family) - Bulgaria - Turkey? - Greece - Albania and some of the former Yugo countries...
Dreaming  :D ;)

The only "headache" is the visa to Belarus.
Very expensive. :(
See you deep in a German forest ;)
