2009 I’m sure it’s not getting fuel ⛽️

Hi all

I’ve picked up a 2009 FI abs MODEL.
 
It’s not been started from 2016 approximately
Looking when it was last mot (U.K.)bike.


This is what I have done so far to it
New battery
New petrol and dump the fuel in the pump.

It is priming and pressurising fuel.
FI light will go out.

Spark ⚡️ is ok and the plugs.


The problem is it will not fire up and just keeps
Cranking over.

So I’ve had the tank off it.
Open up the air box and given it some fuel
In the inlets and easy start
It started up on it.

So it must be something to do with the Injection
side of it. It may be just a bad connection where
It’s been standing?.

But I’m struggling to find any information
On this model.

I can find 99-07 manual.

I have got a 07 abs FI MODEL
and it has a choke/ fast run
Lever for the injection.

So I need some help if possible please how do I
Go about this.

First of all, the best way is to say hello and a presentation in the right thread when you come in a new house  sure you've seen Wales flag for your profile if necessary
You must hear the pump when you put on ignition. Sure the search module (up right) can helps you to find some information. Have you clean the tank and fuel filters?

Yes pump is working fine and checked lots of pressure.
When you turn it on.

FI LIGHT is out.
and  Kill switch on.

I’ve had the tank off and dump the old fuel out
And from the pump.

Check I have had the air out of the pump when I put new petrol in.

New air filter but that’s not the problem.

It will keep cranking over. I give it some petrol and it fired up

Do I need help with the inlet side on what to check out please.

I forgot to ask also the injection on the 07 model has like a choke lever.

And the 09 model do not have this on it.

It’s like full automatic cold start?.

Could be the injectors have stuck closed, do you have fuel up to the injectors ?
Get a noid light or a led to check the injectors are being switched by the ecu.

This is my next move to remove the fuel tank again and air box
To see what is going on.

It’s quite possible they have stuck over time.

I was hoping to find a oem workshop manual
First.

In case I need to check the sensors also.

Also where do I find the plug for the FI codes
Do you know by any chance?.

Under the seat by the battery has a red blanking plug on it iirc

Woohoo it’s alive lol I’ve got it running tidy now.

I was right the injectors had stuck and playing up.

It not run for 5 years.
The sun was out and I was on the case lol
I’m a retired car mechanic by trade.
Still like the old stuff mind lol

I can now start to tidy it up now.

I had has a non runner
The engine is working lovely now.

So I’m going to plod on with the things that needs doing
To recommission for the road and some Mods
To tidy it up.

But I’m I will be doing a lot of work on this bike to get it back a
Good shape.

I’m dropping the seat off Saturday for a custom job 👌👍
Then I’m checking it front to back because it’s been stood for
So long.
The engine sounds lovely tbh.
