Kurdistan 2017
« on: July 11, 2017, 16:32:07 »
Hi,
I just complete my trip in Turkey. I was in Kurdistan region most of the time. All trip was 5125 km for 8 days. I sleep on tent except one night in Diyarbakir on hotel.
Pass trough Kemaliyeliler Tasyolu also known as "Stone road" along with Efrat river.

Video from stone road here:

Sleep in tent.

Also go to Nemrut Mount

Pass this nice bridge before Diyarbakir

And Diyarbakir

Next stop Van Gölü (Van lake) 1700 m altitude biggest Soda lake in the world.

Then Sinop on the Black sea

And last stop Marmara sea

A lot of adventure and good food :).
You can see all my pics from the trip here:

But I write on Bulgarian most of the information about the pics.

No, not a single problem on the road. Never stopped by Police or Jandarma. Friendly people, if you stop by the road, first car that you see, stops and ask you if you have any problems, and if you are OK. Once after stone road, police car stop and ask me if I am OK and if I need help. :) Always pleasure to travel in Turkey. For this 8 days never have rain :).

You can see the route day by day here: http://www.tonyco.net/pictures/Kurdistan_2017/Days/

Also passed Malabadi Köprüsü, (Malabadi Bridge). It has the largest belt in stone bridges in the world .

It is near Batman's area ;)

Except 1/3 of the country ;).
No now it is OK. Just tell me not to go to Van city because there is military operation and it is not so safe. Most of the people tell me that their president almost solve the problem therе and I think they are right, according to what I see. They told me, after about 5 - 6 months everything will finish here. Actually when I enter Kurdistan area I notice that Jandarma people and vehicles increased. There are a lot of heavy armed patrols, stations by the side of the road which are borne. Soldiers are with automatic guns. When I leave Kurdistan area everything start to be normal. Strange filling because there is no physical border and you just enter another world :). I spoke with a lot of Kjurds, they tell me the truth, there is no Kurdistan, there is Turkey. It is the same, people are the same habits are the same, food is the same except military people :). A lot of nice places in Turkey are in Kurdistan like you see from the pictures.

P.S. I go with my cousin and with my son in April again in Turkey by car. You can check the pictures here, it was very interesting trip again :) http://www.tonyco.net/pictures/Turkey_Trip_2017/
