PS: My reasons to take that route are
      - go via RN 85 to GAP, been there (Sisteron) often for gliding
      - go the last part of ROUTE DES GRANDES ALPES from Barcelonette to Mediterranean Sea, with alternates due to snow
      - go through MONACO
      - go through the CAMARQUE
      - see again SÊTE
      - see again CARCASONNE or take the short way through Gorges de Galamus
      - go to LOURDES
      - go to SAN SEBASTIAN
      - go to GERNIKA
      - see the Dune de Pilat
      - go to LA ROCHELLE see the bunkers and the susspension bridge nearby
      - go along the river LOIRE (castle sightseeing) as long as possible eastern
