my previous helmet was a shoei x-11, i had a fair amount of wind noise and a bit of buffeting. my screen on the vara was on its highest position with a lip added. i just purchased a shoei hornet x2 and the difference was huge. very quiet, no more buffeting and excellent visibility. i thought the peak might be an issue but it isn't. i would highly recommend this helmet

I have the original Shoei Hornet...lightweight, great visibility, comfortable but earplugs are obligatory! If I'd known it was so noisy I probably would not have bought it. My HJC helmets are much quieter.
Good to "hear" the new version has improved.
