...
We will have choice ( for instance) for the next AT

Either ABS+DCT or ABS, but not the basic STD (non-ABS non-DCT).
Two choices out of three, then, in France  8)

It seems that delivery in The Netherlands is delayed...was next November, now December, possibly even January '16...

Dear All,
A while ago I noticed a few interesting facts about Honda's largest adventure bikes, and guess what?
The new Africa twin is going to be Honda's largest!
Good news for us tall fellows!  ;D

These are the dimensions of the three bikes.. (LxWxH)

Africa Twin  2.335 x 930 x 1.475 mm (ABS/DCT) weight: 242kg.
Crosstourer 2.285 x 915 x 1.335 mm (ABS/DCT) weight: 285kg.
Varadero     2.295 x 925 x 1.500 mm (ABS).       weight: 276kg.

Past: 1977 Honda cb750f1
Current: 2005 Honda Varadero.

So, please tell me, is the Africa Twin high enough for the Dutch, if global warming progresses ????

It might be the biggest, it also has the most ground clearance of the lot... So the amount of room for your legs will be limited. But when raising the saddle and lowering the footpegs it might be a bike that is suitable for Dutch people.

True, lowering the foot pegs should do the trick. New AT looks like being the successor for the old AT as well as the Varadero. Best of both worlds, if you ask me.  :)
..and I just love the looks!
Can't wait to have a go on one, roll on 2016!

Dimensions however, says nothing about appearances... The bike might be tall, but if it is skinny like f.e. the Yamaha Tenere 660 (which is also a very tall bike) it still dwarfs. The ABS Varadero is (according to my licence papers) 283kg  ;). The big plus of the Varadero (but also bikes like the GS1200A and the S10 Worldcrosser) is that they are not only tall, but also have a 'big' appearance.

But... judging to what I have seen, and the figures shared by Honda, I am moderate positive!  VCIF_ThumbUp

Yes the Varadero is a true heavyweight tell me about it  :), the AT should be a totally different bike to ride though. It's weight is much lower down than the Varadero and it's about 40kg lighter with the same power output.

And yes, I agree about the appearance thing, it should look a big bike too without overdoing it like the GSA. In my humble opinion the front/dashboard looks a bit like the Varadero but then modern and a touch slimmer. That's the bit I don't like about the CT, which is nice to ride though but hasn't got the appearance I'm looking for, being a tall fella.  8)

Anyway, time will tell. I hope I'm still in love after I've tested it... ;D

I really like the looks of the new AT, however I also noticed some things that I do not like that much. For example there is no "hump" on the passenger seat to stop them from sliding forward and I also do not like the turning radius. It is the same as the Varadero. After riding a Transalp 600 for years the one thing I found bad in the Varadero was exactly the turning radius combined with the weight when maneuvering in and out of the garage. Other then that, I also can't wait to see it in showroom and eventually get on one.
