Some good pics in there.  Panniers look a bit flimsy.  Fuel consumption figures in the specs looks good though.

Fuel Capacity 18.8 litres
Fuel consumption (WMTC mode) MT: 21.7 km/l (WMTC)
 DCT: 21.8 km/l (WMTC)

That gives a range of about 350km to reserve.  That's better than what I get with the VFR1200X before I hit reserve.

Amazing that the DCT is better on fuel than the manual! I think it will perform magical, waiting desperately to get my hands on one of them. The two Honda agents in my area have ordered both a tricolore demobike, scheduled to arrive next month... Hopefully we won't have an early winter!

It is not automatic as cars used to have with power loss on small gears. It is normal gearbox with automatic clutch and gear changes.

Honda just released info regarding the 2016 Crosstourer (see Honda news on this forum), and it says:

Quote
Three levels of S mode for the Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) version to cover a wider range of riding scenarios and styles. Software upgrades that allow the machine to detect uphill and downhill slopes and adjust its shift pattern accordingly. The DCT option has been chosen by the majority of VFR1200X Crosstourer customers since 2014.

That's an interesting news-fact... Looking towards the 'offroad' tuned DCT on the new CRF1000 Africa Twin...

I'm not surprised.

Strangely we can't get DCT here unless we specifically order it and then wait for it to arrive.  They have, until now, only done manual gearboxes in NZ  VCIF_a_008.  That is going to change with the new AT, at last our market will be able to experience DCT.  And not before time  VCIF_a040hae

Something strange, because we (in France) cannot anymore choice for the CT we have only DCT models since this year...  >:( so when they say " have been chosen by the majority " ... Not chosen everywhere but imposed ....  8) it can increase the numbers !

We will have choice ( for instance) for the next AT
