The prices in New Zealand are now known.

For comparison sake, I include the price for the VFR1200X...

  • base model VFR1200X is $27,000
  • base model AT is $19,995
  • ABS/TC version is $21,995
  • ABS/DCT version is $23,995

In New Zealand the base version VFR1200X comes with ABS and traction control. As such the comparative prices are $22,000 for the AT with ABs and traction control and $27,000 for the VFR1200X. That's nicely pitched between the VFR800x and the VFR1200X.

Cheers from downunder...

Maybe Erik, that isn't such a bad idea... If we get a VAT & Tax refund exporting the bike.
Many Dutch here in the North buy f.e their cars in Denmark for exact the same reasons ;)

Well, Bernard.
I didn't think about that.
I bought my Varadero directly from the importer, and paid all the tax/Vat myself.
The price was more than doubled!

The Norvegian Vat only is 25%.
But how can you get Vat refund from Denmark?
Denmark is a EU member.

However - I know that people from the whole world used to buy wine in Norway for export.
But that was when the Norwegian Wine Monopoly imported all the wine themself.
They were experts, and they bought big amounts.
My dream job... :-*

Nice pic, in line-up with the XRV650 (RD03) and the XRV750 (RD07). But it shows one thing... The new bike is, eh, very... Slim. Tiny. OK, its tall, but certainly not as 'buffy' as its predecessors or the Varadero.

Still need to see, taste, and feel it in the flesh though! And looking mighty forward to it. Its the most promising new Honda in ages!
