Thanks for your comments. Interesting that you don't rate them as good as Anakee 2's for road manners. I rate the TKC 70 better than the Anakee 2's for road manners and better also for gravel.
Anakee 2 and 3 are only tires I lost control on tarmac.

I haven't tried the Anakee 3. The TKC 70 is a better tire in my view than the Anakee 2. I did quite like the Anakee 2 but never felt 100% confident with them in the wet. They were a good tire on my Tiger 955i, but not good on the CT.

I will give the tires you have on your bike a go at some point, will be a while away, the 70's are wearing really well.

I got mitas E-09's put on and found them superb on gravel roads - very chunky but noisy on tarseal with surprisingly reasonable grip in the dry and ok grip in the wet.

And I have the Mitas E-10 Dakar on, front and back.
Super on dirt and gravel and to my surprise very handy on the street.
You do have to take care when wet.
Only issue is that the Daker version are allmost impossibel to put on by hand.
The E-10 version without the Dakar name are soft wall,  and need more low air pressure when offroading.
I think you can drive very far offroad on the Daker version with a punkture.

As you've seen here , I've mounted a rear MITAS E07 + Dakar (yellow stripe ) on my AT.

after 2850 kms done duo/ panniers ( whose 200 off road alone/ light)

it is something like this.

On the beginning a little bit less precision on the corner, but surely the break-in ... So a great tire, I've chosen the Dakar version with 3 folds of rubber instead 2 for normal version, what is good for extreme condition I think ... Rapid temperature rise (but we ride with 30°C) ; nice hang on all conditions; ride under severe storm (carefully) and absolutely no slip; done a hard conditions off-road session, with mud (the old TKC on front had problems) and very rocky: the traction is phenomenal !  ;D
On worst points, sure as it is more knobby (as TKC70) some vibrations around 40/50 kms/h and some times a little bit noisy (when do not hear the engine) .
Have to see now, how much kils I can do, but as said by Jyrki, price is very interesting , and if you decide to go off road, really a good choice !  VCIF_salut

I have my first E07+ rear and happy so far. I need to find better front than E07 though.

TKC 70 is not so bad for front with E07+, but mine is used and I have reached the limits (in mud) .

It is my 3rd E07 front. They do not last as long as rear, they are noisy and losing shape too quick.

I am touring in NZ from Auckland down and back to the bottom of the South Island in December with a mate both on Africa Twins with about 5k Km total planned - mostly tarseal with roughly 750 Km of easy gravel.  Currently for town use the twins are shod with Continental TA2's which I like a lot. But for the south Island I will switch the rear to a Mitas E07 + and front to a TKC 80. The West Coast of the south Island is usually very wet so that will be an interesting tarseal test. Update to follow.

I have converted both 2016 DCT AT's from TA2's to Mitas 07+ (rear) and  TKC80 (front) and used both for commuting including in heavy rain in Auckland city and did a gravel riding 100 km course on them with a buddy this weekend. In the dry at up to 75 MPH/120 KPH on motorways the combination is stable, corners well  and a little noisy.  On standard well kept NZ gravel roads they were a very good combination. As has been reported before by many the TKC 80 has exceptional grip on wet tarseal for a knobbly tire while the MT07+ are a little slippery in dry tarseal when cold or not scrubbed in and are "ok" on wet tarseal.  After my 5k south Island tour I will report back more on them.

As a regular rider in the south those South Island roads will wear your tires at a much faster rate than the North Island roads, they use a different chip in the seal and it is harder on tires.

They are such gorgeous tar-sealed roads though - cambered, well drained, sticky with the extra grip making for more wear, not much traffic, I can hardly wait - only 5 sleeps to go as we used to tell the kids!  The gravel seems different to the North Island too - down south it's much more like riding on marbles, much less sticky down south than up North when you're off the tar-seal.
