We will be on 30th May morning in Hambourg , and riding up to Copenhaguen. If it can agree with your planning ( 29 of May is non working day here) it will be a pleasure !  ;D

Hi Gilles,

How is your route TO Hamburg? Traveling through Germany, or Belgium/Netherlands? I live apr 2,5 hrs 'Autobahn' ride from Hamburg, so if you want to stop over for a coffee, please feel welcome. I'm leaving on Monday, June 2nd for the first stretch to Northern Denmark, 2nd stretch to the Colorline Ferry on Tuesday, June 3rd, following the Western coastal route.

TP Take the www.Fjordline.com instead. Much cheaper and faster to Kristiansand.

If some of you like it, you can listen to it when riding to Geiranger..

Tnx Magnus, but I already booked Colorline... 41,- for flex (so that's not that much more expensive!)
Had a discount ordering via  my Dutch Automobile Club membership incl early booking discount...

Hirtshals up to Larvik and retour from Kristiansand, 2 bikes + rider 144,-  ;D

Sounds like a fair price. After all is all depending on where you will head after coming to Norway coastline.

Myself will go North on mainland, a little car ferry between Moss-Horten and then south to Bamble, Stathelle for sleep and luggage repacking. Then over the mountains..

Route till now (exact route not fixed and open for suggestions / modifications)

- Day 1: Home - Danish Border, B&B in Danemark
- Day 2: Coastal route to Hirtshals, afternoon ferry to Larvik, arrival in Oslo (2nd night at some famous people's place)
- Day 3: Oslo - Røn (3rd night in Røn area)
- Day 4: Røn - Fjordencamping Geiranger, pre-VIM that night ;)
- Day 5: VCIM!!!!

I'm still a little doubting to include the http://www.theatlanticroad.com/ in my travelplans but it seems a little out of direction since we will be heading south after VCIM...

Suggestions? Which part of this atlantic road is most stunning to ride? Is that the part between Kristiansund and Molde?

Our route towards Geiranger will be like this:
Sunday 1st june  : Home - Herning (Dk) B&B
Monday 2 nd june : Herning - Hirtshals - Kristiansand - Evje
Tuesday 3 rd june : Evje - Rodberg
Wednesday 4 th june : Restday Rodberg
Thursday 5 th june : Rodberg - Skabu
Friday 6 th june : Skabu - Geiranger

Route back home after VIM:
Monday 9 th june : Geiranger - Jostedal
Tuesday 10 th june : Restday Jostedal
Wednesday 11 th june : Jostedal - Hovet
Thursday 12 th june : Hovet - Evje
Friday 13 th june : Restday Evje
Saturday 14 th june : Evje - Kristiansand - Hirtshals - Herning B&B
Sunday 15 th june : Herning - Home

We'll be staying in 'hytter' during our trip, and sleep in the hotel at Geiranger.
Travelling towards and from Germany on Sunday is done to avoid the casual traffic jams at the Elbe-tunnel near Hamburg. Total distance (including the trips at Geiranger)  will be approx 4000km. Longest stretch on one day is the trip Home - Denmark with about 600 km (all highway).

Both my wife and I are very much looking forward to these two weeks!

Never been there by myself but according to some other visitors, it is only the bridge that is really something in nice weather.
If nothing else happens a daytour up there in waiting for the other participants on the Friday could be a goal for the day
