Niken 900GT
« on: March 10, 2020, 04:38:43 »
I have on loan for several months through work one of these

What is it? Is it a trike or a bike. Technically a trike, of course, but it rides like a two wheel motorbike, albeit with a tonne of frontal grip.

Good on gravel too.

But the front view is, hmmm, decidedly not to everyone's taste.

The preying mantis and the goose. I know which one I like the best.

The motor in the Niken is fantastic. It's a really nice unit.

I'm not sure I would buy one, but it is a fun machine.

The Niken has been returned.

I really like this bike. Front end grip is unreal, the motor is very nice and the seat is surprisingly comfortable. Once you get over how big (and it is big) the front end is, this bike is a lot of fun to ride. I would make a good touring bike.
However, two big drawbacks for me. The first is the limited tank size. 18L is at least 5 L to small, the bike is heavy and fuel consumption is not good. The second is fixable, but would be expensive to correct, the rear suspension would need resetting.

Cost of maintenance might be high too if something goes wrong with the front end of the bike.

That is understandable  ;D .
Event though this is the wrong thread, but it makes it easy for me, can you post a pic of your current bike here?
