Transporting My Varadero to Europe.
« on: December 03, 2017, 18:00:43 »
Hi Everyone

I live in Canada, but have done a lot of touring in Europe on rented motorcycles.  The cost of renting is starting to really add up.  What I am planning on doing is flying my 2008 Varadero over with Air Canada to Frankfurt and store it while I have to be back working in Canada.

James.mc, I understand you've done this before.  My internet searches have revealed ADAC green card insurance is required.  Stephan Knopf of Knopf Tours can supply this insurance.  Has anyone had any experience with other methods of insurance?  Is this the best way to do this?

I'd love to hear any stories from people who have done this before.

Of course this will leave an empty space in my garage that I'll have to fill with a shiny new Africa Twin !!!!!!!   ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I have used Martin Hurley at, https://motofeirme.com/..... He is located near Cork Ireland.  I have had my bike there for several years now.  Nice to have it ready to go anytime I need it.  He keeps it charges and starts it frequently.  Mechanic services available too... Good guy with sterling reputation... Trey

I've heard good things about Stephen Knopf as well.  http://www.knopftours.com/Web-Site/Welcome.html

He is in Heidelberg, Germany.  Good to know about an option in Cork for starage.
