Honda to make a bike for Dakar Rally?

Fact is that Cyril Després (one of the two guys who've been dominating the raid arena in the past decade) is no longer going to race for KTM.

Rumours say (since months, but it's new to me) that he got an offer he couldn't refuse from Honda, which would be much interested in making a bike able to win the Dakar.

Who knows? Perhaps a new Africa Twin may come one day in a not so distant future!

Heard the same rumour that a new trailie is coming next year.
But. Same procedure every year makes my doubts...

Clear is that they are coming with a motardversion of the new 500 with better exhaust.

  Im not so sure about this,it sounds too difficult for Honda.Time will tell....

I've heard about that too ! It Will be sure Honda come  to the future Dakar with a bike to win it.
And it's quite sure we have in 2015 a new trail bike ...  But what about the features ?

Honda drove during the Dakar 2013 with a CRF450 ... the team included 5 drivers - the best known of them was Helder Rodriguez.

They ended the Race on Position 7 and 8!

I have just heard it on the radio:
-Cyril Després does quit KTM, yet he is not going to Honda, but to Yamaha instead.
-Joan Barreda is the rider who's signed for Honda.
