VCIM18 Questions & Anwsers
« on: December 14, 2015, 20:45:21 »
Als I did this year I would like to go camping. Since I cannot find any information about camping on the regular site I don't believe there is an actual camping site. How is this arranged?

Good.

The camp site is onsite and provided by the hotel, on the lawn. Powersockets will be provided. Only small 'biker' tents will be allowed. Showers & sanitary to be shared in the Hotel Spa. No bike parking near tents, but all bikes will be parked centraly and controled on the Hotels parking.

We also have the 18bed guesthouse in stock TILL January 1st. It has to be booked in one pax, but if you can find 15-17 house mates, it offers an cheap alternative.

I have about 50 kgs of equipment and 10 bags, how am I supposed to move all these things to the tent, including the tent  If the bike is not near the tent. I do not remember camping anywhere in the world without the bike near the tent.

I think this is the result of it not being an actual camping, but a lawn changed into a temporary camp site. Still I am not convinced.

Is there wifi on the 'camping'?
Are the toilets accessible during the night?
How many showers etc are available?
How about privacy in the bathrooms?

Dear all,

As mentioned by VCI Admin Team, it has been extremely difficult to find camp site accommodation; all camp sites are already fully booked due to a big mountainbike championship during this weekend ("Dirt Masters"). It was difficult enough for the Admin team to make next years venue possible, after the Belgian bid fell away - unfortunately; so please understand that we have to take & embrace the possibilities we have on site.

Bikes can be used to deliver camp goods to the spot where you can pitch up your tent. WiFi is available in the Hotel complex for free.

If you have doubts regarding the camp site option, you still have options for other accommodation at the Hotel; where the 18beds guest-house offers an affordable option (this option is only available till January 1st).

Jack.
If you're not permitted to ride the bike into the lawn for un- and up-packing, I'm sure that there will be lots of good friends who will love to help you to carry  ;) ;)

Exactly my thoughts! Think in possibilities, not restrictions! ;)
Already two voluntary luggage carriers to your disposal, Jack! ;)

Thanks for all the volunteers for carrying my bags. What about campers that arrive two or three days before VCIM starts.

How come I am not mentioned at "who's coming" in the VCIM18 site. Do you know something about the future that I do now know.

Wrong topic. Please revere to the Website & Bookingtopic. ;) But I am sure You are in the books!

Arrive on the date of the event, and your luggage will be taken care off! ;) ;)
PS the 'campsite' won't be ready before Thursday previous to the event, Jack. Unfortunately! But You are kindly invited to pitch up your tent in my garden - only 295 km from Winterberg!

That's a great offer Jack, but even though 2Plugs has a great and very large garden, I would stay in the guesthouse! It's bigger than my house!

Quick question how are the 18 beds in the guest house setup?

Maybe if there is enough interest it can be an option, but we could do with a bit more info.

Also does someone have to front up the total price or can the orga team take part payments?
Is there another word for synonym?

VIM12,VIM13,VIM14, VIM15

2 x 2 Person Rooms
2 x 3 Person Rooms
1 x 8 Person Room

2 x Bathroom with shower and Toilet
1 x separate Toilet

We could take part payments but we would not be able to confirm the booking until the full amount had been paid which would be very risky and could leave you without anywhere to stay.

If you are considering it the best thing is to club together and make a single payment.

We will meet up on mid-day on Thursday.
We only have a 120 km ride that day  :)
