Can you install the Tapatalk plugin please.

It's free to forum owners.

Hi Redeye,

I also asked for the use of Tapatalk when asked for ideas for the new forum.
Two Plugs then told me they wouldn't do it because of security reasons.

There are no security reasons. It's used on hundreds if not thousands of forums!

There are no security reasons. It's used on hundreds if not thousands of forums!

If the number of users is a measure of the security of a software package then windows users are obviously wasting their money on McAfee and Norton etc.

Most addons to web based systems such as our forum are installed and operated within the system. Tapatalk is different it has full access to the forum databases (emails, PMs, etc)  and, when installed, has the ability to access the databases externally.

There was a serious problem with Tapatalk a few years back which resulted in a number of well informed sites removing it completely ( http://androidforums.com/site-updates-announcements/122121-tapatalk-support-has-been-pulled.html ).

It's possible that all the security weaknesses in Tapatalk have now been eliminated. We decided not to risk it.

To complete Stewart's message above:

The new Forum enables an interface with Twitter and Facebook; please allow us some time to set things up to give you the best possible benefit of both Worlds. Stewart and me will have a Beer at VCIM and discuss the possibilities. We will get back to you lot as soon as possible after our meeting in Wales.

Be aware that the Admin Team acknowledges the possibilities to spread- and support this community by using social media. But only if they are not intervering with the security of our members and their personal data.

Tapatalk is in that aspect, off limits (for the moment).
