What's EICMA Got for Us Honda Fans
« on: November 02, 2014, 21:36:57 »
Just a few days to go now, and all will be revealed at EICMA - Will Honda show the CFR 1000. I certainly hope so :).  My timing is bad though, I've just bought the CT  8)

A link from August...

I used google translate to read it.  Cheers...

Maybe they'll unveil their secret weapon the mighty 1200 vtwin varadero with chain drive and cruise control to try to keep up with the new KTM 1290.  Wishful thinking. They're lagging behind in the big adventure bike market. :(

Not sure I would want a 270 plus kg 1200cc top heavy Varadero with chain drive.  I do like the idea of a 1000cc twin at about 200kg or less with a chain drive...  But hey, I'm fussy like that  ;)

Not sure it will be a 1200: too much in competition with CT. Then a 800  (in competition with new cross runner) or 1000 ... ;)

Agree with the above. The Adventure bike market has gone totally bananas (= over the top). Bigger, more cubics, heaver... Its time to de-tune all of this madness and go back to the era of a 350cc Matchless!  ;D ;)

(Notice the sarcasm in this reply, but I still think Mr. Kiwi got a valid point)

It seems that Ducati will reveal a brand new Multicaputi tonight at its EICMA press conference...
I thought the current one was just recently overhauled?

Yep, another fast bike to wrap your body around in an impossible position just so you can go way too fast for sensibility  :-\, but technologically it is an interesting bike.

However, there is only one bike I'm interested in. One bike to Rule Them All  8), but only if it's about 200kg or less, is around 1000cc (not more) and has tall suspension.... hmmm I wonder what that could be  :o :)

If they are from Honda Montesa, they will be low capacity bikes (= mopeds).
The real stuff is revealed at an large press conference, Tuesday morning at 9:30 AM CET.
