Gday from Australia
« on: September 22, 2023, 03:25:41 »
Hi and thanks for having me here

I recently rescued a XL1000V Varadero, chassis # 000085 built in 1998

A little sad and not running, I spent a few days cleaning carburetors, changing oil and filters and spark plugs (which were incorrect)

With a fresh battery and fuel it then started after 3sec!

Still some small jobs to do - brake pads and fluid, adjust chain and lubricate some cables

VFRBoy because I had a 1998 VFR800Fi for 8 years

Now I have:
1999 XL1000V Varadero
2000 XR250R
1989 GB250 Clubman

I certainly hope so, it has just 60,000km, so very fresh.

Changing the brake pads it had Nissin pads in it so possibly still original

Some small customisation to do (remove bar risers and screen extension - previous owner was very tall) and our summer is nearly here for riding!

I am not tall (1.78) and I did install bar risers. For the sake of having the handlebar 2 cm closer.

This made the riding for hours more comfortable, to my back and arms.

Greetings,

Josep
