Still a stunning bike. You really got the best colour schema, although I like the 'candy red' which is available right now ;) But nothing beats the 'golden rims'!

Riding up the Rimutaka Hill road, north of where I live. It is the access route from Wellington into the Wairarapa.

David,

you are all driving at the wrong side of the road  VCIF_a_008.
Isn´t it dangerous  VCIF_a055?

Some more action from yesterday.

I headed out to my favourite gravel route to test out my new rear suspension. As you can see from my video above of my ride over the Rimutaka Hill road, the bike rides really well on tarmac. This partly because the new suspension both reduces rear sag, but also raises the rear height a little, meaning the front rake is reduced. The difference over stock on tarmac is outstanding. The front turns in easier and more quickly and the rear is planted with great feel and feedback.

So, with tarmac sorted, what about gravel? Shortening of the front rake angle doesn't normally bode well for gravel riding and so it proved to be the case. My challenge is I have set up the bike for my weight plus a small top box with zero pre-load. On gravel the front end was a little twitchy. I suspect softening tire pressure (which I didn't do yesterday) will help quite a bit. However, since I have set the bike up for two up adventure riding, the rake will self adjust once I have my wife on the back. Oh dear that doesn't read well does it, wife as ballast  VCIF_a055 .

A short video of my first tentative ride on gravel post the suspension upgrade...

Just one raw video, waiting I'll come back from Alps' tour; I'll perhaps make some montages from my 2017 experiences ...
Was yesterday on the beautiful Cévennes' trails  VCIF_ThumbUp

PS: Hyperpro makes the job, perfect on road (I can strike foot peg on Minier Pass  ;D ) and very nice on tracks; Smoother then OEM and the bike seems taped to the road. Duo + luggage test on Friday
