Hi all you youngsters,

I don't know if I will participate if VIM22 is allowed.

First of all there's the covid situation. I'm not eager to travel trough several countries when I'm not yet vaccinated, and that will be the case.

Secondly, I've crashed the AT last Wednesday and I've broken 5 ribs and had some blood and fluid around my longs.
It's still early to say but the doctors who treated me (both bikers themselves (BMuu and KTM)) think it still can be difficult to travel long distances and tenting overnight is surely not a good idea.
The AT seems to be OK - slide marks on the protection bars and on the handprotection - according my dealer but I didn't see it yet.

There's still some time to the end of May but I think with these situations it will be difficult to participate.

Many greetings,
Bruvex

Get well soon! What happened?

Hi Jyrays,

I crashed the bike on a small and winding road - often used by farmers - in the early morning hours. So visibility was not yet clear.
In a 90 turn my front wheel just slipped away and however it was at reasonably slow speed (40-50 km/h) I couldn't correct it anymore.
According to the doctors I just made a bad fall. It could have been worse but for all I know it could have been just bruises too.

When police and ambulance arrived they said the road felt 'greasy'.
So just bad luck.

Hello orga team, hello all participants; perhaps time to discuss and make choices for the future?
Orga team seems to think VIM can take place this next May...
listening to all "specialists" here or elsewhere it seems it will be difficult to ride thru Europe before this Autumn.
My opinion is we cannot hide our eyes and butcher our ears any more; who think it will be possible to held it in May?; who is ready to postpone it to September : if we wait and wait a lot of people will be stuck, if we decide not far from now a lot of persons can organize a trip for September (for exemple - but the choice of the orga team or a poll?)

it will be sure we cannot be vaccinated for May, and seeing the new problem with Aztra Zeneka in Europe , do not think a lot of people can travel; for those who can , who wants to ride thru  borders in that case?
For us our travel to VIM is Italy (very difficult situation for instance), Slovenia, Hungaria, Slovakia, VIM, (UKrania), Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Italia.
A think to our Russian friends who have difficulties with EU visas for instance ... perhaps better a little bit later? thinking also of our wounded friends ;)
Is it possible for our host for our welcome in Poland, in September or what are the others possibilities ?...
Waiting for your thinking and advices, feel free to organize poll with choices etc...

A good society is a society where we speak; my opinion  VCIF_salut

The situation in the UK is that at the moment no foreign travel until the 17th of May at the earliest.
However we would have to enter Holland and Germany to get to Poland. I have no idea if these countries will receive foreign visitors.
VIM has always been held in May (pentecost?) and so I don't see a postponement until September is feasible.
Better to postpone until 2022 to give plenty of time for things to settle down.
Only my thoughts but it is time to start sharing information on the situation and how it affects this years VIM.

Most elderly and middle aged Brits will be vaccinated by May   ;)

The infection rates in Poland (and some other eastern european countries) are currently rising as fast as anywhere else in Europe https://covid19.who.int/table

I don't think many people would be able or be willing to travel through Europe in the next 3 months.

The problem with pushing it back to May next year is that we don't know what is going to happen over the 21/22 winter and what restrictions will be in place at this time next year.

The last days the infection rates in Norway is rising very fast  :'(
The rates haven't been higher since the Covid arrived in Norway.
For first time all stores except food, medicine and alcohol ( ! ) are closed, and will not open the next month.
Most people over 85 are vaccinated, and that means that youngsters ;) like us have to wait several months.

It seems as the Swedish border will open within few days, but we still have to stay quarantined for at least 10 days when returning.
And - the Norwegian insurances don't cover journeys abroad.

Last year we discussed a VIM in September 2020, but we decided to wait for May 2021.
Sorry to say, but I believe that May 2022 has to be the (temporary) solution.

We don't know what is going to happen, but hopefully we're all vaccinated by then.

See you in Bieszczady - sooner or later ;)

@ Snurrepus,

I agree  VCIF_ThumbUp.

But there should be as well the option to get refunded if somebody is not able or do not want to join in 2022.

Such a solution we have found for the German Varadero Meeting (VDT) in 2021/2022.

Thanks Zebulon, you're the best  VCIF_ThumbUp.

For me it is clear I will not attend VIM if it is held in may this year.
3 reasons for this decision:
  • I will not be vacinated in time.
  • My doctor is not in favor of me tenting this soon.
  • My boss doesn't allow me extra holiday since I'm still at home until 18/04 due to the accident. The people at the office can't continue doing my task as an extra upon theirs, I'm not the CEO ;)

I personally am in favor of postponing VIM to next year may since the second part of the year is - as usual - not possible for me.

Greetings,
Bruno

Hello everyone,
The situation is indeed difficult to predict, I assumed that there will be a possibility to organize VIM in May this year.
However, I do not want to force anyone to decide to come.
If you decide not to organize VIM in May, I will of course respect this decision.
However, I have put a lot of effort and time into preparing the event twice and I am unlikely to take on the organization next year.
So it seems to me a good solution would be to find another person who can better handle the organization of VIM22.
Of course I will pass all contacts to the organizer in Myczkowce, with whom you will have to make arrangements and of course I will try to give as much support as I can.
I'm really sorry that things have developed in this way, I certainly would not undertake the organization if I suspected it.

Regards,
Kris
