During this time Honda's R&D still working on the bike which doesn't exist ;D they say a few months ago there are no "small AT", but as expected it can be presented in EICMA ...

Old news and not confirmed. Chance is more likely that Honda will come with a "small" Africa Twin, with a 750/850 capacity. Hence the upgrade of the Africa Twin from 1.000 to 1.100.
-
Nothing else is said here Bernard. A new Transalp/Africa twin on the base of the NX motor , with 800 cc (790) . Seems there is a bundle of concordances this time on this information .

Hi, you must mean Honda NC engine? So far 750 cc is the biggest.
-
Yes NC sorry .... upgraded from 750 to 790 cc VCIF_salut

I think if this bike would be in the pipeline, it would be an instand succes; looking how well for example Yamaha T7 and Beamer F800GS are selling... Honda doesn't have a real compatitor.
-
With NC engine it would not became a competitor to the other mentioned bikes...
-
but Honda have others weapons than power VCIF_ok

I think a detuned CRF1100 engine would be the best guess, Jyrki. The NC750 engine is good, but technically its at its end of possibilities, based on a 'cut-to-half' Honda 1400cc Jazz car engine; where the CRF1000/1100 are new designed powerplants.
-
perhaps/surely less expensive to upgrade NC's motor, then downsizing the heavier AT's... ;)
-
Some more rumors...

Until Honda manages to lighten their bikes, they'll always be behind, a Tracer 700 weighs 196Kg
while the NC750 weighs 220Kg har_scratch.

CRF1100 is lighter then CRF1000 VCIF_ThumbUp

It is nice to speculate, but I would not be surprised if Honda bring out a mid-sized engine Africa Twin. Unlikely that they will develop a brand new motor, so it is more likely to be based on an existing motor as many of you have already noted.
-
Honda have registered the name "Transalp" in the USA these days... it will be a parallel twin of 790cc ...

Yep, my suspicion was right, a smaller AT motor but surprised they are going to use the Transalp name.
-
they have reborn Africa Twin with success; Transalp is also a legend ! ... ;)
-
will be presented this next fall
-
this is not an official Honda communication; but Transalp is on the way, will be presented (certainly ) at EICMA and sold for next spring ;)

Waiting to see if it makes it to NZ. I'm happy with my Norden 901, so will be sticking with that.
