This year's vacation need tips

Hi guys,

After all the crazy months, my plans are now to visit Slovenia, plenty to do there, actually my question
is about Austria on the way.
What places to look at, not even only motorcycle related, I'm a curious man !?

All our plans for this year had to be cancelled  :'(
Instead of VIM, we visited several places in western and northern Norway - and Spitsbergen.
Tenting in northern Germany last weekend - cancelled.
Camping and hotel tour to UK in September and October is also cancelled.

From next weekend only a few countries are "permitted" to visit for Norwegians. That means less than 20 infected of 100000 citizens.
Finland, Italy, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. Northern and southern Jutland in Denmark is also permitted.
In rest of Europe - and rest of the world - our travel insurances aren't valid, and we have to stay quarantined when we return to Norway.
See you deep in a German forest ;)

Sure that's the classic, I was more interested in which cities would be nice !?

Yeah that's tough sorry you're having so much issues, indeed Switzerland says it's residents should not travel to Norway.

So I thought the safest now, was Austria and Slovenia, further in the Balkans, you then need to go in a 14 days quarantine
when coming back and your employer will not pay you, so better stay away.

Okay so finally I'm screwed, Austria asks for a negative covid test to pass the border, turns out in my city it costs me
about 190 euros, to get tested... then same thing again for Slovenia because they don't accept validity of test after 36h.

So I'm bummed and thinking what I can do, maybe dolomites, Corsica, will see !

My travel history.

First I planned the Balkans down to Greece and back through all Balkan countries and with ferry from Split to Italy.

Second, because of Carola (Serbia, Kosovo, North Makedonia, Montenegro, Albania are permitted for Germans), I planned the nothern part of the Balkans with arrival through Czech Republik, Slovakia and Romania to Slovenia, Croatia and with ferry from Split to Italy.

And third I had to reduce my plannings (Romania, Croatia are permitted for Germans too) to a tour along the whole boarder line of Germany (inside Germany).

I agree with Gilles, I visited Corsica and Sarninia this year and it was great.

In the end I chose to do the Dolomites, because dummy me never saw the Stelvio pass and that's really
one of the world's most famous ones, so need to check this off my list.
Will stay 2 days around Alta Badia, to hike and do photography, then I'll go towards lago di Garda, then
Lago Cômo having a bit of leisure time, back home for the weekend.

I might do a second trip the second week, doing the famous St Bernardino pass in Switzerland, then to Aoste
and will see then a route to France and some of the natural parks, like Ecrins, Vanoise, Bauge.
Or is Corsica doable in 1 week ?

Lots of nice choices around and I love mountains !

Stelvio is one of the roads to do  VCIF_ThumbUp You can see part of Corsica in 1 week - Cap corse- west coast (Agriates desert; porto down to Bonifacio) a lot of nice things to see inside too in the mountains (Vizzavona pass area) . I am near Ecrins, Vars, bonnette, Izoard etc passes till mid septembre; in case...

Thanks a lot, could be fun to meet will check weather, because I starded windsurfing  :P and love it,

Bad luck follows, Stelvio is closed du to huge precipitations in the last days... Off on the "normal" road towards Italy.
