Discrimination against tent dwellers.
« on: April 09, 2016, 14:23:02 »
I can not get rid of the feeling that there is a discrimination going on against the tent dwellers from the others that are going to be comfy in a warm bed.
Quote from what was written.
There are 4 particpants camping; the others are comfy in a warm bed
Therefore it will NOT be possible to pitch up your tent before Thursday, May 12th, 17:00 hrs.
For showering it is therefore obligate to wear your swimsuit / bathing suite.
Bikes can be used to deliver camp goods to the spot where you can pitch up your tent
Jack.
If you're not permitted to ride the bike into the lawn for un- and up-packing, I'm sure that there will be lots of good friends who will love to help you to carry
One other solution is to come lighter this year Jack !!!
Covered. A windturbine with dynamo is provided.

Jack,

the average temperature at Winterberg in may is: 9,3 °C
the average highest temperature at Winterberg in may is: 13,3 °C
the avergage deepest temperature at Winterberg in may is: 8,4 °C

So, it may become in the night a little bit cold and - as I think - therefore our president is telling sth about "comfy in a warm bed".

Greetings from the South of Germany

Jack you will not rehashing that too much please...
Have we to make a replay? We had a proposition to a VCIM in an other place , first orga team as abandoned the project, we had a second proposition, which seem not to be available after a few month.
So what to do :
- decide we have no VCIM this year
- try to organize something else

We've chosen the second , have found a site, an hotel ... Unfortunately and as said this place have absolutely no camping place due to a sport manifestation.
We've negociate with hotel owners and city administration, to have some tents in the garden.
What will be better, to decide this year is only hotel accommodation available? We've decide not...
So Jack be happy , please be happy with this situation, or decide it's better to be different ...

Happy to see you soon again, and yes , you will have help for the camp installation .  VCIF_salut

The organisation team has done a fantastic job in unusual circumstances.

Discrimination - I think this is a figment of imagination and perception...

But we are all equal, some of us just make different decisions...  :P

Thank you Gilles, for these kind words which are absolutely the truth. I also can not understant the first posting. 2+ for Davids reply.

Jack: I am sorry for how you 'perception' is, I really am. And from all members, you should know better.

I am also sorry to 'conclude' that you would have prefered the cancellation of this years VCIM18 (?) because the original organisor bailed out, and the party who kindly offered to take over, simply made prommisses which could not be kept. I feel a little dissapointement that the amount of time and work invested by the Orgateam - and esspecially Gilles - to make this years venue happen; far away from our local region, last minute and with limited resources - is misunderstood... :-\

But I am most certain,  that this 'conclusion' is totally false (read: I am wrong).

Hopefully YOU are wrong using the word 'discrimination'.
Everything has been written about the camp site facilities of this years VCIM18 and I have nothing to add.

When I am on a trip with my motorbike I absolutely love to go camping. The sense of freedom I get from riding with my tent on the back of my bike is awesome. This year I was, like Jack, a bit dissapointed about the camping facilities, but I am sure this has nothing to do with discrimination.

The orgateam did a hell of a job organizing vcim18 and camping will be possible, but it will not be perfect. If showering is a problem I am certain that one of those luxury loving fellow participants is more than willing to let you use his shower so you can wash your private parts.

I am sorry I cannot attend even thoug the camping experience will be limited. I will miss out on the campsite breakfast with Jack. A great experience every participant should have experienced. So next year: camping only!

I am really sorry you do not understand my sense of humor. The whole thread was meant from my side for humor and sarcasm,   when you come camping every situation is just a challenge.
