Some CT additions
« on: March 22, 2016, 20:55:25 »
Hello friends,

last December, when I bought my DCT Crosstourer, I knew I wanted her to have a taller screen (Honda) and a foot gear switch. I am happy with both additions.

Later, I decided I needed a more comfortable seat, so I had it refurnished with the addition of some gel padding. So far I am happy too with this, but the final word I will tell you in Winterberg  ;D  ;D

But there were some further additions I wanted.

First, a set of SWMotech handlebar risers. Great for short (armwise) riders like me  ;D . As you can see, the cables needed to be replaced not to be too tight.

Then, as the original handguards are merely decorative, I had some Givi extensions installed

Also from Givi, after the top case holder came the panniers holder

And here she is, almost ready to go anywhere (well, there's just one more part to be installed one of these days)

BTW, if someone wants, my original unused panniers are still for sale  ;)

Greetings,

Josep

Joseph, how do you find those Givi hand guard extensions. Are they doing a noticeably better job?

I had 35 mm bar risers but original cables... it was tight but worked over one year without problem. same ones in AT now, no problem again...

Good luck for selling the panniers, they are not the hottest article to sell. I sold my damaged pannier for 100 € though  VCIF_ThumbUp

Finally the last addition is installed!

History. The first day I rode in the rain, I realized the bike was sending a dirty water jet stream upwards, straight to the top case handle and lock area.
Of course, the reason was a very nice minimalist mudguard, perfect for sunny days.

Looking for solutions, one was the one I finally had installed: a Touratech aluminium extender.
Then I thought: 30some € is ridiculous por a bent piece of black aluminium, but what the hell! After 28 years and 500000 km on trail bikes it's about time I have something labeled Touratech on my bike!  ;D

We'll see how it works these next few days.

Greetings,

Josep
