Open Source Maps (free maps)
« on: June 03, 2015, 11:54:54 »
I use a simple android phone (some times use 7" android tablet) with some free software maps (all world free) , based on OSM (open street maps).
This "OSM maps" is a open street maps project , where any user can participate in the constrution of the world map, also can be used with Garmin GPS and Basecamp software.

Some free software and maps (OSM) for android:
-Map factor navigator
-Osmand
-be-on-road
-Navmii (Navfree)

Sigic is also a good (not free) GPS solution for android.

Cheap 7" android Tablet mounted on home made support (no chance of falling, tested during several trips ;) ).
