hi All
After doing some research and taking some advice I recently fitted the Palmers UK Screen Adaptor Kit and the larger screen.
I received the new screen adaptor kit and large screen for my 2008 Varadero just before Christmas. Just as a reference I went for a ride through the country with the original screen set up on the bike as it had been a couple of weeks since the last ride. I really noted how uncomfortable the ride was with the wind buffeting and noise.
I then fitted the screen adaptor and screen which took all of about 15 minutes and adjusted it to maximum height and angle then went for another ride. I was absolutely blown away with the change in the ride and it felt and sounded like a completely different bike. The improvement in ride experience is nothing short of remarkable. I stopped after 20 minutes and realized that I had been riding at 120 km/h and still had my visor up! I made some very easy roadside adjustments to bring down the height of the screen and adjust the angle as I was now getting some glare from the chrome on the fuel tank cap and went again. Again, absolutely incredible.
On the weekend my partner and I went for a weekend tour and she commented that when we were riding on the outskirts of town she thought we were still doing 60 km/h, but when she looked down we were gently cruising on 100 km/h already. As a pillion, shereally noticed the difference in buffeting and wind force when she leaned out and looked past me, there was none !
Cannot praise this enough, it is an incredible product that has made a substantial difference to what was already a good bike and ride, it is now amazing ! Definitely worth freighting from the UK to Australia !
