XL1000V Brake Pads
(1/1)
VFRBoy:
@admin I don't know why this is in the Africa Twin channel - I'm sure I posted to the Varadero - can this be changed?
Some manufacturers list different part numbers for front vs rear pads
(update) Honda OEM
Front: 06455-MBT-612
Rear: 06435-MAT-016
DP Brakes:
Front: DP128 (9.6mm)
Rear: DP126 (8.3mm)
EBC
Front & Rear: FA261HH
SBS
Front: 735HS or 735HF
Rear: 736LS or 736HF
Now, does this actually matter? I think the difference is just slightly thicker front pads, probably because they wear more quickly.
The other dimensions are identical

Honda list different part No's For Front and Rear Brake Pads.
If in doubt . . . follow the OEM.

Thanks. I've managed to find the SBS pads they specify. EBC were available but more expensive than OEM!
